7th Asia Crop Science Conference

The pressure to produce more food for an increasing population, diminishing resources and escalating environmental problems needs focus attention to develop efficient, stable and sustainable crop production systems. To achieve this goal, the cooperation of crop scientists, transcending the boundaries of regions and nations is necessary.

The Asian Crop Science Association (ACSA) consisting of a group of Crop Sciences and related societies from Asian countries regularly organizes symposia and other scientific meetings. Conferences have been held in South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, the Philippines, Brisbane Australia, Bangkok Thailand.

The 7th ACSA conference will be hosted by Research Center for Bioresources and Biotechnology, Bogor Agricultural University, Bogor, Indonesia on September 27-30, 2011. Bogor city is well known as rainy city and located ± 60 km south of Jakarta, the capital city of Republic of Indonesia. In the middle of Bogor City, there is a Bogor Botanical Garden which was established in 1817 has an exotic and endemic plants collection, as well as President Palace.

The 7th ACSA in Indonesia will provide a valuable  venue for disseminating information on the most current advances in the crop sciences including conventional and modern technology of crop and even more importantly for initiating collaboration efforts between scientists and investors, to create new opportunities and develop the established industries.

Scope of conference will includes farming system, plant production, biotechnology, genetics and breeding, molecular biology, physiology, ecology, and other related aspects. The commodities are food crops, estate, medicinal, and forage crops.

The activities of conference include plenary session and concurrent session, poster presentation, field visit to R&D Center Area for Agriculture Cimanggu, Bogor Botanical Garden and President Palace.

Further information regarding the conference, please explore http://www.acsac2011.com and we invite all scientists working in crop sciences to participate in the conference.
